about me

I’m René—a web developer, tinkerer, and someone who gets easily swept away by an interesting rabbit hole.

I’m interested in how things work. Not in an abstract sense, but in reality: How does a microcontroller tick? What does a self-built Eurorack module sound like? What makes a photograph by Laurenz Berges so still and yet so loud? These questions usually lead me to build something myself—a circuit, a generative system, a website that feels like a person and not a product.

Growing up with a father who was always repairing, building, or automating something, I’ve known this feeling since I was little: when something you’ve built yourself works, it’s simply different. After years in web development, this eventually led me from Angular components to soldering irons and Arduinos.

The web is particularly close to my heart. I believe it was originally intended as a place to connect people and exchange ideas—not to monetize attention. I’m a fan of personal, quirky websites that showcase character rather than optimizing reach. This is my attempt at it.
